Exciting Design Trends for 2020, as Seen at Market

Our team at Decorating Den Interiors of Venice has been lucky to attend several design conferences and merchant expos to kick off 2020 and we have noticed some really exciting trends!

As we look forward to new and fresh looks in the home fashions this year we excited to work with some of these new design trends on the market.

For colors, we are seeing bold and graphic hues make their mark. Blue, green and blush are leading the scene.

Large scale, bold accessories are making a big splash. They are a great way to express your individuality in your home!

Bold black and white is also very strong this year, we are seeing a lot of monochromatic palettes from our vendors.

Comfortable living seems to be key for 2020. Fabrics with great durability and livability like Krypton, Sunbrella and Inside/Out are taking the public by surprise with their versatility. Manufactures are paying attention to the little details that make a piece special; contrast stitching, flow matching patterns, tape trims and nail heads. At our recent shows we have seen lots of beautiful hammered metals on tables and chairs. Oversized cocktail tables are becoming the focus of a living room through form & function.

The old look of oversized entertainment centers is being replaced by sleek console pieces made of wood and metal.

Nature is still an influence especially here in Florida. The industry is seeing rattan and wicker, live edge on tables, agate and shells incorporated into pieces to create interest and texture. Mixed metals in lighting and furniture are current and make a room eclectic.

Don’t forget area rugs which ground the room. Hide rugs and natural fibers are cropping up everywhere and the new trend of layering area rugs adds even more texture to the room.
